Anthony LaPaglia has a new foe, and his name is… Steven Weber.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Brothers & Sisters thesp has booked a four-episode arc on Without a Trace. Little is known about his character, except that he’ll be a thorn in the side of LaPaglia’s Jack Malone.
As I previously reported, Michael Imperioli briefly flirted with the role, but the ex-Soprano ended up joining ABC’s upcoming Life on Mars instead.
Speaking of Weber, a little birdie over at Brothers & Sisters tells me that there’s a very good chance we may be seeing Sarah’s old business partner again this season. Is this a good thing? You tell me in the comments section. And while you’re at it, feel free to handicap the LaPaglia-Weber showdown on Trace. I’m going to give LaPaglia the edge, if for no other reason than he’s the star of the show.

Great scoop! I am curious though – is Zip still in contention at NBC? It was listed on the upcoming shows portion of its fall preview section on nbc.com (along with Man of Your Dreams and Blue Blood), though never announced in any of the press releases. The preview is also outdated as it still has Kath & Kim on Tuesdays (it’ll now be on Thursdays). Does this along with B&S mean there won’t be a Zip, or is he just juggling three shows?
Steven Weber on any show is great news! Steven Weber returning to Brothers & Sisters is the motherlode!
Weber’s character on B&S was just to move the plot of the family business along on the show. He helped assist show Sarah’s vulnerable side. I don’t see him returning to the show to be a good thing.
Nothing on Lost? Nothing to come at Comic Con? How will I survive???
IT IS INTERESTING THAT YOU WOULD TALK
ABOUT BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND ELI
STONE..ON THE SEASON FINALE OF BROTHERS
AND SISTERS..SARAH’S FOUND OUT THAT HER UNCLE MADE A BAD INVESTMENT WITH THE COMPANY AND NOW IS IN DEBT FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.. SINCE STEVE WEBER’S CHARACTER HELPED WITH THE DEAL NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN..EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW WHY
JACK SHOWED UP IN THE MATERNITY WARD
AT THE SEASON FINALE OF THE SHOW..
IT IS GREAT THAT HE IS NOT LEAVING THE
SHOW..
Saying he’ll be “a thorn in Jack Malone’s side” makes it sound like they hired the guy but don’t really know what they’re going to do with him. Without a Trace is getting seriously repetitive and I suspect the ratings represent viewer inertia as much as anything. I know CBS won’t, but they should seriously start making plans for the end of Without a Trace and Cold Case, which are as predictable as House.
I love Stephen Webber. Oh, for the days of Sam and Judy!
Totally would love to see Steven Weber come back to Brothers & Sisters. Love the show, love him.
I really want Steven Weber back on “Brothers & Sisters.” I enjoy him.
After Matthew Rhys, I love Steve Weber. He’s very, very hot with Sarah. Please bring him back.
I love Stephen Weber. I think he is great. I’m just hoping that the upcoming season of WAT won’t be so Jack centric. He’s getting boring to watch and I am tired of it always being about him, him, him. Give us more screen time with Enrique, Marianne, Eric, and Roselyn. The Jack/Sam show is getting old.
Apparently Weber will be on “Psych” this season, too, which is exciting. Since I don’t watch “Brothers & Sisters”, I figured he was just doing theatre these days.
The more Steven Weber we have on TV, the better!
Nice to hear that Steven Weber will be on WaT. I’ve always enjoyed him. I just agree with the person who said it’s gotten too Jack-centric, and I can barely stand him. How about more Martin? He hasn’t had a real storyline in a long time! My mom is a huge fan, and she watches only for Eric Close.. I just don’t get why they focus so much on Jack and Sam when from what I’ve seen, people like most of the other characters as much as them. Those two are my least favorites!
I would really like to see Steve back on B&S! I think he gives the show that extra “something”
Interesting & though their has been a lot of repetition if they expanded the characters of Danny, Martin etc this show still has so much to give in that respect!
Anyway hope s7 gives a revival for WAT is for some reason one of those shows with great characters & imagination when it chooses to use it.
I love Steven Weber, he’d be a great addition to any show.
Let’s get Aaron Sorkin to write for Steven Weber and we can all enjoy smart, substantive episodic tv again. He delivers.
I can give you a $1,000,000.00 reasons why LaPaglia will come out on top! That is about how much he makes per episode of Without a Trace and the show would never be the same without him!
